Silvretta Lift

Ascend 2,145 meters in just 6 and a half minutes

On December 10, 2016, we made another giant leap in the modernization of the cable cars at the Silvretta Montafon ski resort: the Silvretta lift became operational.

At two kilometers in length and traveling at a speed of 5.5 m/s, it is one of the longest and fastest 8-seater chairlifts in Vorarlberg.

It runs from the Vermiel lift valley station down in the valley to the Sonnen lift summit station on the Gampaping mountain. The Silvretta and Vermiel lift stations in the valley have been linked by a new ski bridge. To ensure that the new constructions remain as unobtrusive as possible during the summer, greenery will be added to the ski bridges, the new slope entrances and to the roof of the depot of the station.

Chairlift sets new safety standards

With its automatic restraining bar, the new lift ensures that all guests, big and small, will be transported safely. The special bar closes and locks electro-mechanically after the passengers have boarded and does not unlock again until it reaches the mountain station. For additional comfort, the restraining bar includes a foot/ski rest, and the seats are heated.
