At dawn, you take the gondola up to an altitude of 2,430 metres to make your first turns on the freshly groomed pistes. Afterwards, you can sit back, relax and enjoy the wonderful mountain panorama with regional specialities at the mountain breakfast.

 

Silvretta Montafon, the sportiest ski area with its 140 kilometres of pistes, 70 freeride routes and the longest valley run in Vorarlberg, lives up to its name. The ski area also combines the sporting aspect with emotions in the form of unforgettable mountain experiences One of these special experiences is the sunrise runs, which offer a unique quality of skiing.

When the first rays of sunshine hit the freshly groomed slopes between the mountain peaks, some people may turn over in bed one last time, but not in the Silvretta Montafon: here, the day starts according to the motto "the early bird catches the grooves". Because here, at an altitude of 2,430 metres, you can experience the first adventures before the sun rises. This mountain experience guarantees morning tranquillity and wintery moments of pleasure that no one will forget in a hurry.

Getting up early is rewarded three times a week
The coveted sunrise rides ring in the ski day three times a week at different locations in the Silvretta Montafon. The mountain adventure at sunrise starts the new week every Wednesday with the "HochjochTotale" at the Grasjoch cable car. Early in the morning, the first gondola takes you up the mountain with the guides. In addition to the breathtaking mountain panorama, there is also the longest valley run in Vorarlberg: from the highest point of Silvretta Montafon down into the valley to Schruns. With eleven kilometres of pistes, a total of 1,700 vertical metres are covered. 

Every Friday, the "Nova Exklusiv" mountain experience starts at the Versettla cable car. Once at the top, all early-morning sports fans are rewarded with unspoilt pistes and glowing peaks. In addition to unrivalled impressions of the wonderful mountain panorama, professional guides show you the most beautiful slopes in the ski area. On Saturday, the week of sunrise rides ends with the "Ländle Früah Sport" on the Zamang cable car, which takes all early risers up to the Kapell. This is particularly interesting for locals as well as season and annual pass holders, as the sunrise experience on the Zamang cable car is free of charge and possible without registration with a valid lift ticket.

Hearty mountain breakfast as the crowning finale
On both Wednesday and Friday, all early risers can look forward to a hearty mountain breakfast after the morning's exertions. At the "HochjochTotale", the delicious breakfast of regional specialities in the Kapellrestaurant makes every gourmet's heart beat faster. More than 200 mountain peaks lie at the feet of all guests on the sun terrace of the mountain restaurant at 1,850 metres above sea level. On Friday, the place to stop for refreshments is Nova Stoba. The largest mountain restaurant in the Silvretta Montafon offers
traditional and regional cuisine. Just like the Kapellrestaurant, Nova Stoba offers an exclusive mountain breakfast for all sunrise skiers.
Those who don't want to miss out on the tasty refreshments on the mountain after their first turns on Saturday at the "Ländle Früah Sport" can top up their energy reserves at the à la carte breakfast in the chapel restaurant. Those who still fancy a few runs after the first session and breakfast can look forward to 35 lifts and a variety of runs on 140 kilometres of pistes, over half of which are at an altitude of over 2,000 metres.

A stress-free sunrise adventure
When the alarm clock rings early in the morning, it's time to put on your ski boots and hit the untouched slopes of the Silvretta Montafon. Whether locals or holiday guests, sunrise runs are a popular mountain experience. No wonder, because letting the edges glide over the grooves of the freshly groomed pistes at sunrise and enjoying the morning atmosphere on the mountain is an unforgettable highlight for everyone.

If that's not enough, the ski area also offers a freeride adventure day every Tuesday and Thursday with fantastic off-piste runs. In addition to endless kilometres of pistes, Silvretta Montafon also has the longest floodlit night toboggan run, which winds its way down five and a half kilometres into the valley to St. Gallenkirch. This was also voted the most beautiful toboggan run in Vorarlberg by radio station Antenne Vorarlberg. For all those who want to enjoy the clear mountain air at night, there is the option of spending the night in a romantic igloo. After a delicious cheese fondue in the Valisera Hüsli, you set off by torchlight to the igloo village where, in addition to hot mulled wine, the unique igloo sauna awaits guests. To experience the skiing action in Silvretta Montafon from a completely different angle, PistenBully rides are offered every week from Tuesday to Saturday on a course.
