Trail runners in top form in the Silvretta Montafon
On Saturday, September 4, mountain runner Marcus Burger (AUT) and mountain runner Marie Luise Mühlhuber (DE) won the titles at the 5th Montafon Totale Trail.
250 international runners took on the challenges of the 5th Montafon Totale Trail in perfect conditions and absolutely fantastic weather. The participants battled their way over hill, dale, meadow and stone kilometer by kilometer towards the finish line. The starting signal for the two long distances "Ultra Trail" with 47 kilometers and 4,200 vertical meters and the "Totale Trail" with 33 kilometers and 3,300 vertical meters was given at 07:00 at the Alpin Sport headquarters in Schruns. The shortest distance "Mountain Run" (10 kilometers and 1,200 vertical meters) started at 11:00 a.m. at the Aquarena in St. Gallenkirch.
Montafon Totale Ultra
The supreme discipline "Montafon Totale Ultra" was won by the Austrian Marcus Burger with a sensational time of 06:35:48, closely followed by Nils Riegel (DE) and the Swiss Thomas Nickel. Just under 55 minutes after Burger, after exactly 7 hours, 30 minutes and 36 seconds, Marie Luise Mühlhuber (DE) was the first woman to cross the finish line. Petra Friedrich from Germany crossed the finish line ahead of third-placed Karoline Eimannsberger, also from Germany.
Montafon Totale Trail
The participants of the Montafon Totale Trail covered an equally impressive route, albeit a little shorter, with 33 kilometers and 3,300 meters of altitude. Rene Antmann from Austria (04:37:11) and Katrin Köngeter from Germany (05:04:28) took the podium places here.

There were also big winners in the mountain running category: Sven Koch (DE) triumphed in the men's race with a time of 01:04:29. Nora Havlinova (AUT) was the best runner in the women's race with a magnificent time of 01:17:49.
No participant went away empty-handed at the Montafon Totale Trail this year, as everyone automatically took part in the ultimate MTT raffle: prizes included various stays in the Montafon, running shoes, running glasses and countless surprises. The Montafon Totale Trail was held for the 5th time this year. The Montafon Totale Trail was organized and carried out by Silvretta Montafon in cooperation with Montafon Tourismus and the Swiss performance running shoe brand "On". Uvex, Hammer Nutrition, Intersport Fischer and the Fohrenburg brewery were also on board as cooperation partners.
