The most beautiful autumn hikes

Autumn in the Silvretta Montafon enchants with a breathtaking play of colours and clear, fresh mountain air that magically attracts hikers. When the leaves turn warm shades of red and gold and the mountain peaks are already covered in the first snow, it's the perfect time to go on a journey of discovery through the alpine nature. The autumn hiking trails not only offer impressive views of the surrounding mountains, but also a special nature experience away from the hustle and bustle of the valley. Whether relaxed walks through colourful forests or challenging mountain tours with panoramic views - autumn in the Silvretta Montafon offers the right route for every hiking enthusiast.

Panorama hike Gantakopf

The name of the hike says it all: The route over the Gantakopf impresses with a spectacular panorama. Hardly any other tour offers you the opportunity to see all three majestic mountain ranges of the Montafon in such a short time: the Verwall, the Rätikon and the Silvretta.
The hike on the Gantakopf panoramic trail (no. 6) is a moderately difficult tour that delights with magnificent views of the Montafon mountains. It leads from the mountain station of the Versettla cable car over the Gantakopf to Garfrescha and offers a varied route of 4 kilometres in total. It covers 533 metres in altitude, making the hike doable in around 1.5 hours. Due to the steep terrain in places, it is not suitable for pushchairs, but is ideal for hikers who want to enjoy the impressive alpine landscape. Either the Versettla cable car in Gaschurn or the Garfrescha cable car in St. Gallenkirch can be used as a feeder. You can walk the tour in both directions.

Seetal path

The picturesque hiking route in the Montafon - pure mountain idyll!
The Seetalweg (No. 4) is a moderately difficult hike that starts at the mountain station of the Sennigrat cable car and leads via the Wormser Hütte and the idyllic Seeweg. On the 4.4-kilometre route, which covers 435 metres in altitude, you will reach the Seetalhüsli after around two hours, where a SUP station provides a refreshing change of pace. The interplay of lakes and the yellow/orange-coloured landscape is an absolute dream for all mountain enthusiasts.
The hike ends at the Hochjoch cable car mountain station. Due to the terrain, the tour is not suitable for pushchairs. The Hochjoch cable car in Schruns is the feeder to the hike.

Madrisella summit trail

Once you reach the Madrisella summit trail, all the effort of the ascent is quickly forgotten: At an altitude of 2,466 metres, an impressive panoramic tour awaits you that is both exciting and beautiful.
The Madrisella summit trail (no. 10) is a medium-difficulty circular tour that starts at the Versettla cable car mountain station and leads over the summits of Versettla and Madrisella as well as the Matschuner Joch to Alpe Nova. With a route length of 10.9 kilometres and an altitude difference of 829 metres, the tour requires a good level of fitness and can be completed in around 4.5 hours. The breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks make every step worthwhile. Due to the terrain, the route is not suitable for pushchairs. You can easily access the tour using the Versettla cable car in Gaschurn.
