St. Gallenkirch (A). The demolition of the old Valisera cable car has been completed and Silvretta Montafon has now opened the construction site for the new Silvretta Park Montafon with the ground-breaking ceremony on April 1, 2021. Completion is planned for December 2021.
While large investments tend to be rather restrained in times of Corona, the Silvretta Montafon ski area is making a name for itself with the Silvretta Park Montafon and the new Valisera cable car: The existing area has been demolished and the construction site for the new Silvretta Park Montafon is now free. The ground-breaking ceremony for the new building took place on April 1, 2021. Among those present were Alexander Kasper, Deputy Mayor of St. Gallenkirch, Jürgen Kuster, Montafon representative, Manuel Bitschnau, Managing Director of Montafon Tourismus, Gerhard Burtscher, Chairman of the Board of Bank für Tirol und Vorarlberg (BTV) and both Managing Directors of Silvretta Montafon, Martin Oberhammer and Peter Marko. "Tourism is full of opportunities and of enormous importance for society, the economy and especially for the Montafon. The Silvretta Park Montafon project, with the new Valisera cable car, will make a major contribution to this," says a delighted Gerhard Burtscher.
A world of experience is being created
The locations of the valley, middle and mountain stations and the route of the Valisera cable car remain the same. The stations and gondolas of the cable car will be built using Doppelmayr's new D-Line series. "The new area around the Valisera cable car will not be a cable car valley station in the traditional sense. With the Silvretta Park Montafon, we are creating a place where people can meet and feel at home and get everything they need for an eventful day on the mountain," emphasizes Peter Marko. An underground car park, an Intersport store, a ski school office, a hotel and catering units are also being built at the same time as the Valisera cable car is being renovated. "We are full of anticipation for the new Silvretta Park Montafon and the ultra-modern Valisera lift. Thanks to our owner, BTV, we can boldly invest in the future despite the difficult conditions. This guarantees a confident new start to the 2021/22 winter season," explains Martin Oberhammer. Guests are expected to be able to visit the new Silvretta Park Montafon and experience the new connection as early as December 2021.
