Silvretta Montafon starts winter 2021/22 with a world first

From December 2021, visitors to Silvretta Montafon will be able to "experience a new connection" and enjoy the coming season to the full. Winter sports fans can look forward to extensive freeride routes, perfect pistes and the longest valley run in Vorarlberg in the Silvretta Montafon ski area. In addition, the newly designed and converted Josefsheim is a meeting place waiting to be discovered by young and old.

New cable car era brings technical progress and maximum performance
After 40 years, the new Valisera cable car is now replacing its predecessor. With the first semi-autonomously operated cable car, a world first is currently being created in St. Gallenkirch. Reduced to the essentials, combined with modern design and unique architecture, the new 10-passenger gondolas of the D-Line from Doppelmayr will be available to guests from December 2021 as a very special ropeway experience. The new comfort with twist-in system and indoor ski holder also includes integrated seat heating and offers barrier-free access and exit. The low-noise, low-vibration ropeway guarantees maximum passenger comfort and maximum technical performance.

The new Silvretta Park Montafon welcomes its guests
Silvretta Park Montafon will open its doors in December 2021 at the same time as the new Valisera cable car. The modern multifunctional building complex is set to become a place with quality of stay and meeting zones for guests, locals and employees. Silvretta Park Montafon offers its visitors the largest e-charging garage in Vorarlberg with 50 integrated parking spaces for electric vehicles and a total of 600 parking spaces. The entrance to the Valisera cable car can be reached via convenient direct access. There is also a large integrated market hall with various stations and regional connections, offering something for every taste. The integrated Intersport store with ski depot and a Kästle Test & Buy Center provides visitors with everything they need for a successful day on the mountain. The ski school center is also right on site. There you can get information about the current range of courses and also book mountain experiences with trained guides. In winter 2022/23, Silvretta Park Montafon will also have another new feature: the Revier Hotel Montafon will open in combination with a public restaurant and will be a fantastic starting point for sports activities of all kinds right next to the cable car station.

The Josefsheim becomes a friendly meeting place
From a former hospital to a modern hostel with alpine charm: St. Josefsheim not only offers exciting accommodation, especially for younger target groups, but also offers a new gastronomic highlight and invites its guests to enjoy fresh coffee, crispy flatbreads and bowls made from regional ingredients. The ideal combination of gastronomy and hostel creates a location where young and old come together. The history of the building has been preserved and the once emotional location has been given a new lease of life. With its open design in the garden area, it invites visitors and passers-by to linger and enjoy. What used to be hospital and maternity rooms are now modern, redesigned hostel rooms, which are intended to bring the Silvretta Montafon closer to young recreational athletes in particular.

Winter activities and culinary highlights
Silvretta Montafon offers a wide variety of activities and has something for everyone. In winter, you can reach the Austrian ski region in less than three hours from Munich in a relaxed and stress-free manner, without pass roads and snow chains. Those who get up early are then rewarded with a unique morning atmosphere on the mountain. The freshly groomed slopes, a magnificent panorama, incomparable nature and a breathtaking sunrise accompany winter sports enthusiasts down the slopes. From the highest point of Silvretta Montafon at over 2,430 meters, the longest valley run in Vorarlberg leads down into the valley to Schruns. Every Wednesday and Friday, a hearty stop at the Kapellrestaurant or the Nova Stoba with its panoramic views will replenish your energy reserves for the rest of the day with a delicious mountain breakfast. After a long day on the slopes, head straight to the VINNOVA, the highest wine bar in Vorarlberg, for a wine tasting. Accompanied by a sommelier, participants can sample the tasty variety of wines and enjoy regional cheese and ham specialties over a wine tasting snack.
