Trail running elite in top form
On Saturday, 9 July 2022, mountain runner Walter Manser (Switzerland) and mountain runner Marie-Luise Mühlhuber (Austria) won the titles at the 6th Montafon Totale Trail of Silvretta Montafon.
Over 400 mountain runners from 22 nations took on the challenges of the 6th Montafon Totale Trail organised by Silvretta Montafon in perfect conditions and fantastic weather on Saturday. Literally over hill and dale, meadows and gravel, the participants battled their way to the finish line kilometre by kilometre. The longest category, the Montafon Totale Ultra, stretched from Schruns over the Hochjoch to St. Gallenkirch and on via the mountain station of the Valisera cable car to Madrisella, until the fastest runner, Walter Manser from Switzerland, finally crossed the finish line at the Nova Stoba after an impressive 5 hours, 50 minutes and 7 seconds.

After exactly 7 hours and 13 minutes, Marie-Luise from Austria was the first woman to cross the finish line. Montafon Totale Kids
The youngest up-and-coming runners were once again an integral part of the Montafon Totale Trail organised by Silvretta Montafon this year. While the Bambinis got their first taste of mountain running on a route around the Nova Stoba at over 2,000 metres above sea level, the kids and juniors were able to put their stamina to the test on the slightly longer route towards the Vier Barga viewpoint. Every child received a medal and there was a trophy for the fastest three in each class.
The Montafon Totale Trail was organised and held for the sixth time this year by Silvretta Montafon in collaboration with Montafon Tourismus and On. For the Swiss performance running shoe brand, the running summer was characterised by the new Cloudvista, the lightweight and versatile trail running shoe for cushioned comfort. Uvex, Hammer Nutrition, Intersport Fischer, the Fohrenburg brewery and Kloster Kitchen were also on board as co-operation partners.
