Route description for the Kälbersee via ferrata routes
To get to the starting point of the Kälbersee via ferrata, take the Hochjoch Bahn cable car and follow hiking trail no. 4 “Seetalweg” from either the Sennigrat Bahn middle station or the mountain station. Your starting point is the charming Seetalhüsli.
The idyllic Kälbersee via ferrata Route A is set against the serene backdrop of the three mountain lakes on Hochjoch. It’s the perfect practice route, allowing you to warm up your muscles, hone your technique and assess your climbing skills. The entry points to Routes B, C and D are conveniently located along the approach trail. The beginners’ route, with difficulty level A, starts at Seetalhüsli and leads in the direction of the Sennigrat Bahn mountain station.
For your descent, you have two options: either follow the rope back down Route A (while being considerate of ascending climbers) or take the trail that leads across the ridge.
